Elisa Dillard Rainey co-founded Rainey & Rainey with P. James Rainey. Her work focuses on estate planning, special needs planning and elder law, and she is committed to providing exemplary service to the people of Central Texas in long-term care planning and estate planning matters — including pour-over wills and living trusts.

Long-term care planning is the part of this practice most people put off, because it asks them to think about a version of their life they would rather not picture. Elisa's approach to that conversation is patient and concrete: what care actually costs in Central Texas, which assets are exposed, what a spouse at home is entitled to keep, and which documents have to exist before a hospital or a facility starts asking who can sign.

She also carries much of the firm's special needs work. When a family has a child or grandchild who receives public benefits, an ordinary inheritance can do real harm — disqualifying the person it was meant to help. Planning around that requires drafting that will still hold up when a caseworker reads it years from now, which is exactly the sort of detail Elisa is known for with clients.
